WHAT IS GICLÉE?

Palette

OUR PROCESS

Artist and Founder of sharman's eye, Sharman Johnson, uses high-quality inkjet (giclée) printers and archival pigment inks. This combination gives all of our prints incredibly vivid colors and extremely high lightfastness.  Put simply, a giclée canvas print is a high quality print using the best practice and the best quality printer, canvas and ink that is available. Giclée is derived from the French word gicler which means “to squirt or spray”.  Giclée does not refer to only canvas printing but also to art reproductions on paper.

THE MEDIA

Only the best will do!  Rest assured that sharman's eye uses only museum-quality media for its custom, fine art prints. This ensures that the inks stick properly and produce a vibrant color quality.  We know that color has a great influence in determining the atmosphere of a room and accentuating multiple elements within your space.   Plus, we also offer a full range of print sizes and finishing options, including archival paper and gallery-quality canvas.  Canvases are the most popular way to buy my artwork. Images are printed onto canvas material and then stretched around wooden stretcher bars. Although a canvas can be framed, stretched canvases are ready to hang!
